Nithra Institute of Sleep Sciences, A Unit of Utopian healthcare Pvt. Ltd. established in 2004 India’s first free standing comprehensive sleep centre managed by Dr. N. Ramakrishnan, American Board Certified Sleep Specialist.

Nithra Institute of Sleep Sciences is an outpatient allopathic clinic accredited by NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Organizations) and offers education, training, diagnosis and treatment for all sleep related problems. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and also has a homely and practical infrastructure to enhance patient comfort and satisfaction. The support personnel such as Sleep Technologists, Dietician, Lab technician and administrative staff work together to provide seemless multidisciplinary patient care.

Our Mission at Nithra is to promote awareness about sleep problems amongst the healthcare providers and general public; diagnose and treat them early, to prevent long term health problems.

Nithra Institute of Sleep Sciences also has the unique distinction of offering the first University affiliated postdoctoral fellowship in Sleep Medicine. Our training program is affiliated to Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University. In addition, we are accredited by Indian Sleep Disorders Association to train post graduate doctors for one year diploma in sleep medicine. We also offer short term training programs for doctors and sleep technicians.

We constantly strive to educate our community on the importance of good sleep for good health and frequently conduct awareness campaigns. Dr N. Ramakrishnan is well known for his health education programs conducted through visual media and for articles and comments in print and electronic media. He has also written two books (one of which is also available as audio book in CD format) in Tamil for public education.
